G’day Slow Spin fam,
This month’s guests are @fxd.kirby and @fpv_gonsi, a Rad Race mechanic and organizer, and Brakeless Cycling drone pilot, respectively. For those out of the know, Rad Race grew out of an all-inclusive wild west fixed gear crit in Berlin to a full-on operation with multiple sponsors and events. We discuss how Rad Race evolved, how it stays true to its roots despite being backed by giants such as Canyon and Oakley, the organizational work required, and its notoriously lax rules for entering. Furthermore, we also take a look at a very impressive and unique way of capturing some cool fixed gear videos by using a first-person view drone. Fpv_gonsi from Hamburg-based Brakeless Cycling gives us some insight into the challenges and benefits of recording with a drone, as well as a glimpse into the fixed gear scene in Hamburg.
What, GoPro is evolving?
Congratulations, your GoPro evolved into a freaking race drone!
